Birthday Celebrations at the Fraser River Discovery Centre!
Let us help organize your next birthday party and celebrate your child’s special day in a unique and fun setting. With two age-specific themes to choose from, parties at the Discovery Centre are sure to entertain and capture the birthday child and their friends’ imaginations.
It’s O-fish-al – Let’s have a party!
Ages: 4 to 6
Looking for a fun fishy way to celebrate your child’s birthday? The Discovery Centre’s white sturgeon George and his friends will have your little party goers taking part in a variety of fish-themed crafts and fun party games in celebration of your child’s birthday.
Can You Dig It?
Ages: 6 to 10
Dig into some birthday adventures at our simulated archaeological dig. Complete the archaeological challenges and find the hidden treasure in celebration of your child’s birthday.
Included:
Electronic party invitations (pdf format)
60-minutes guided program, use of our decorated party room for cake and presents for 60 minutes
Crafts, party favours and a whole lot of fun
Self guided exploration in the Discovery Centre before and after the party.
Parents are responsible for bringing their own food, but we will supply plates, cutlery, cups & napkins.
Availability and Fees:
Cost is $100.00 (plus hst) for up to 10 children.
Additional children are $7.50 (plus hst) each.
Maximum group size is 15 children.
Deposit of $50.00 is required at time of booking; balance payable upon arrival.
Three weeks advance notice is required.
Depending on the age of the children, we require a minimum of two to four parent chaperones.
Birthday parties are offered Saturdays only at 10:30am and 2:00pm

Frequently Asked Questions
What time should I arrive and where do I go from there?
Your arrival time is indicated on your confirmation form. Please assemble at the front desk in the main foyer located adjacent to the tall Tin Soldier and the River Market.
What happens with late arrivals?
Please let the host know if you expect one of your guests to be late so arrangements are made for them to join the group immediately upon their arrival.
Where do we park?
Pay parking is available in the lot just east of the Discovery Centre building. This lot accepts credit cards only.
Do we receive a guided tour?
The host will greet you and participate in the 1 hour of Birthday Party activities. The rest of day is open for you to explore the Discovery Centre on your own.
Is food included in the birthday package?
As we have no on-site food services, food is the responsibility of the parent(s). We have a fridge where you can keep your food during the activity portion of the party. To make it easier we will provide plates, cups, cutlery and napkins.
Can I bring my own room decorations?
The party room will already be decorated for your arrival.
What happens if I have to cancel?
Cancellations made with less than one week notice are subject to forfeiting their $50.00 deposit.
What happens if the number of guests changes on the day of the birthday?
You will pay for the actual number who show up (based on the minimum of 10 people).
Do the parents attending with their children have to pay an admission?
One parent per child is included in the fee. Each additional parent will be required to pay the current adult admission charge.
