Thank you to those who joined us for our Hall of Fame Gala in 2019!
Join us for an evening of celebration to honour Pacific Custom Log Sorting Ltd. and family businesses Pacific Log Recovery Systems Ltd. and Quadrant Towing, as they are inducted into the Fraser River Discovery Centre’s Fraser River Hall of Fame. Together, these companies have been serving the forest industry for 27 years from their operations in Coquitlam, B.C.
Pacific Custom Log Sorting Ltd. - owned by Gordon and Shirley Cawley – handles everything from camp-run barges to bundle barges, flat boom sorting, de-watering to the dryland sort and truck loading logs, container loading and de-barking logs for export.
Pacific Log Recovery Systems Ltd. – owned by Brad and Teresa Vader and Kirsten and Doug Wallace – is available for salvaging sunken logs from the Fraser, recovering sunken log bundles, sweeping the river bottom prior to dredging, stand-by for log recovery during dredging, mill pocket log and debris clean-up, custom dredging projects in shallow water situations, salvage wood and log transportation to specified destinations, plus many other applications.
Quadrant Towing, started in 2007, is one of the newer business ventures and is also owned by Gordon and Shirley. It was brought into being by Lyle Hargitt, the most renowned dispatcher on the Fraser River, and is now managed by the Cawleys’ daughter Kirsten Wallace. Their distinctive tugs, hooked onto many sections of logs, can be seen plying the waters of the Fraser River on ebb and flood tows both day and night.
